CONFERENCE THEME:

COMBATING CURRENT CHALLENGES FOR CHURCH LEADERS

Ephesians 6:11, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
Today, being a pastor is fraught with challenges like never before. Over this last year we’ve seen elements of our society label the Church “non-essential.” Christianity and the Bible have come under attack by the woke values of our culture. Critics of Christianity are no longer content with the freedom to voice their views; today they want to silence and cancel those who stand for biblical truth.
In addition, today’s Church is terribly confused and fractured. Pressures from without are prompting compromises within. How sure are we of the mission to which we’ve been called? As Paul said to the Corinthians, “If the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare for battle?” Pastors today need to speak with clarity and compassion.
This year’s Calvary Chapel Deep South Conference will address some of the complex and controversial issues facing church leaders today. We’ll discuss not just what we believe, but how to articulate our views in the current climate. This year our teachings and discussions will be led by our Calvary Chapel regional leadership team. No one knows our region and the unique challenges we face better than the men who labor here.
We hope you and leaders from your church will join us. Right now, no social distancing or mask requirement is planned for this year’s conference. But we are planning delicious BBQ, a pastors wives’ luncheon, fellowship on the lawn, and the other sources of encouragement usually associated with the DS Conference. We hope to see you in September.
